We have an Albie and an Ollie (and a Parker in the middle) just the short versions not the full ones and we love them

I also love Alfred or Alfie and we very nearly called DS2 billy.

Thanks for all the ideas! We have an O.liver who gets O.llie and an E.dith who gets E.adie. I will make DP have a browse through and see if any jump out at him.

So little dude will be here within the next 6 weeks and I'm still not 100% on a name. My son wants to name him 0llie Jr, I'm mean and said no. I had been calling bubs Albie for a while and though I thought I loved it for ages, I think I love it less now.

I had initially thought Albert with nn Albie but DP detests Albert and thinks we should just use Albie. I'm not convinced as I've always preferred a 'proper' name which has a great nickname. I wasn't a huge fan of DS1's name but it does suit him well, I love my daughters name and want to love little dude's name too!

Thoughts? Does Albie work as a full name? My family aren't fans but I don't particularly like their choices either

Albie reminds me of the weird brother of Nicki off that HBO series Big Love.....but I reckon just meet your little guy and wait a little to see what fits best xx

I think Albie is cute. Bit like Alfie which i think is short for Alfred(?) but people are using it on its own now as a name so why not Albie.
Personally i prefer "full" first names with a nn but i guess anything goes as long as you like it.
If youre set on Albie nn with a "proper" name but DH doesn't like Albert, could you find a similar full name with same nn? Can't think of one off the top of my head sorry..

I like Albie it was one of our short list names but to many people thought we were saying Aldi

I love Louis. I know it's pronounced 'Louie' but I also like Lewis and shorten it to Louie

I've known of an Albie which was an Albie. Personally I prefer it as a nickname, with full name Albert.

Does your DH have any alternative suggestions?
