It was from the top of my ribs to the bottom.

If it's gallbladder, how often would I feel it?

Mine started mild in pregnancy as mild pains under my right rib. The doctor dismissed it.

A year or so I started getting to a stabbing pain in the same area waking me up in the middle of the night. That happened every six months or so.

The pains then became more and more regular, and the attacks lasted longer until I had my gall bladder out.

It wasn't my whole rib, it was just underneath. I have heard that shoulder and back pains are very common with gallstones as well.

Whatever the cause of the pain, it would be worth discussing with your doctor next time you have an appointment.

I didn't really have a set frequency of attacks, my gallstone was only discovered because I went to the doctor for all over stomach pain and when he pushed under my right ribs it hurt a bit. An ultrasound showed only one gallstone but it was a big one. I theorise that it was to big to get stuck in the duct and cause major attacks/inflammation, either way I had my gallbladder out not long ago and haven't had the rib pain since.
