    No, they've not mentioned how long it will take. It's only been a little over two weeks but I agree - it does feel like forever!

    thanks @calypso75, yes most of the time things are almost back to 'normal'. it's just a few moments here & there (which are probably the ones I write about here) that are sad, but expected/normal response.

    re the extra meds cost, not sure if it's the same as I haven't been in a private clinic for a while, but with the hospital clinic, I used to be able to get meds from them/the dispensary, but they said there was a medicare change and from a point last year we had to change to getting the meds from the chemist. not sure if it was just a medicare change related to public hospital provisions, or an overall one applying to other/all clinics

    Thanks Winsor re the medication query. I guess it is a government regulation. I wondered if that is what it was and the answer of "different departments" didn't really help me.

    Yes, my first 3 cycles all drugs were provided to me in the cost of the cycle. However, the new Government regulations came in and then they told me they were not allowed to supply me with drugs anymore. All mine come from the chemist but I must say that the ones I got were pretty reasonably priced - $37 for 10 Gonal-F pens, $37 for an Ovidrel.

    @Summer so sorry to hear that, its hard to find a donor anything that you are happy with so i really hope it works out. f not i'm sure you'll find another match but its going through the process again.
    @winsor hope you're feeling ok

    @Charlie74 @calypso75 Its a general prescription tax now - any medication you have to pay $37.80 per each one. If you have a lot of different ones in your cycle - usually at least 3 so its $120.
    That's twice in 12 days too as they can't give you the full cycle amount at once.
    Just annoying as its new too.

    The Menopur was bothering me too as i hadn't used it before but its super easy - just like making cordial (!)
    ...except with fun little syringes

    I've had it vary cycle-to-cycle. My FS gives the maximum allowed for a script of X medication, but if your stim time/dose it drawn out then you might need a second lot. Out of 7 cycles I've had to get a second script twice. My FS has me on two FSH meds, so if you are only in one then that might increase the chances you'll need a top-up. Rules are also odd for some of the support meds I've discovered (i.e. If you get one packet it is under PBS, but if you get the amount on script it's not PBS), so I find it is worth checking with pharmacist if you are buying them in the most economical way. The pharmacist near my FS knows me so they now discuss options, but it's only because I'm in there at least 1-2 a week. My local pharmacist is also marvellous, but needs extra time to get in IVF-related drugs.

    IVF and weddings - a license to rip us off!

    @infinity888. EPU was ok, thanks for asking. Only 4 eggs - find out tomorrow how we go. I'm really crampy now. And apologies everyone but I need to have a rant at someone ... My (not so darling) DP is being a complete a*rse. He got cold feet last night and wanted to pull the plug on the whole thing. At 2am. After numerous beers. Which I didn't know he was drinking because I went to bed early to be well rested for today. I spent nearly four hours trying to talk him down off the ledge. To the point that I pulled the "we're done if you do this". So I've had no sleep and woke up from the GA and burst into tears. Now I know I've been heaping the pressure on him for kids but that's my deal breaker. I even started looking at converting the EPU to an egg freeze and then just going my own way. He ended up coming in and giving his sample but under extreme duress. He's been to every doctor appointment and scan and all he's said this isn't ideal and not the way he wants to have kids, I know this. If I had my choice we wouldn't have to do this either. No one in their right mind would. I'm now just seeing how the fertilisation goes. The IVF stress may just be the breaking of us. It might just be easier and far less stressful to do it all on my own.
