Hi ladies I'll be bowing out from the group.

Found out Friday the 17th of June our daughter had passed.

I delivered Charlotte Rose at 7.07am Saturday the 18th of June & we had her funeral on Wednesday.

I wish you all the best and safe deliveries of your little ones.

Not sure when or if we will go down the track of using our frozen embryos.

Ugh I would be annoyed too @VickyP ! Not cool at all not to mention to you that you NEEDED to come in to get your results! Maybe check with your OB that he doesn't have any other blood results for you, sometimes it's hard to know what they've tested for - we end up going for so many tests!

It does seem to be the case that it's more important to have optimal Vit D levels in the second half of pregnancy, so taking your supplements now is the main things I'm sure. I think you'll find lots of people have a vit D deficiency - it's pretty common - and are no wiser until they are (if at all) tested for it later on.

    I am so so mad.

My OB hasn't done any blood work except for the Harmony test, which probably didn't test for this. I have my OB appt on Wed so I will be bringing this up with him and asking him for a referral so that we can check what the level is right now.

Other than frantically popping some Vit D supps and praying for the best, I am not sure what else I can do for now. So worried....
@VickyP I pray all goes well. Keep us posted..
As @HillDweller mentioned most people low in Vit D... at least you were and are taking Elevit and there would be some supplements going to bubs because of that.

    Thanks @Kathk18 and @HillDweller,

I guess I was just very rattled yesterday with HOW I got the news. I don't think I would have freaked if the results had come back right after the BT. I would have been like, "oh, ok. what do I do now? Eat more Vit D? ok, done." I don't think the low Vit D was the part that freaked me, but the fact that my GP didn't tell me 2 months ago. so when she called, my reaction was "what? what test was this? when was this? are you sure it's even me you are talking about? errr. ok, i will check my prenatal vitamins. errr. ok, thanks. *hang up*. AND YOU ARE ONLY TELLING ME NOW?!?!"

Vit D deficiency is apparently quite common and many drs don't scan for it specifically. The surprise was that when I checked my Elevit, it contains 200iu daily, BUT the current recommended daily level is 400iu (even after considering the sun you get), so it's lower than the recommended level. Another .

Alright, time for a walk outside given the brilliant weather today.

@VickyP yep, I would have been super angry at the dr. So incompetent and rude! Any abnormal results should have been reported to you immediately!

I just had a look on my prenatals (can't take Elevit due to not being able to have any iron supple mrs so I take InNatal) that has 400iu in it. From what I've read, the studies showing vit D reducing risk of pre-eclampsia etc say you can take 4000iu (!) so I would think if you keep up with your Elevit and add a good vit D3 in you should be all good

Glad you have nice weather, it's raining cats and dogs here! Lol

I am thinking of changing GP after this @HillDweller. Pity that because my GP is a OB-GYN trained GP but now that I am seeing my OB, I haven't gone back to see her since I am not doing shared care anyway.

I am wondering whether I should start looking around for a GP that has experiences with Ped care for kids.

Problem with Vit D is depending on how low the level is, oral supplements are not very helpful because Vit D is hard to absorb through ingestion, so people with low Vit D take a long while and sometimes a lot of dosage to up it to a normal level.

Brilliant sunny weather today, which is quite enjoyable after the freezing weekend. Am going to try to get a bit more sun from now on just so I can get more Vit D from that!
