Hubby takes day off on actual birthday so we can have a family day. This year her 3rd birthday falls on a Sunday so her main party will be the Saturday, family celebration on the Sunday and then her other party will be the following Saturday.

If its their party year, they have their party on the weekend that is best suited for us financially and practically (in that order). If not, we have dinner on their birthday and a cake. Some years DH has taken the day off and we've taken the birthday kid out for the day without the others.

If it's during the week we will go out for dinner if we can.
