Default Best travel insurance for Grandparents visiting Oz

    Hello,

My Dad plans to visit here from the UK but at 76 he's concerned about his health.

He has a preexisting heart issue that he takes medication for but otherwise healthy.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a good UK based travel insurer for seniors that have decent medical cover?

    TIA

I can't advise on an insurer but he would be covered for any care in a public hospital under the reciprocal healthcare agreement. You should be able to find more information on this on the DHS website.

I was just about to say the same about reciprocal health cover, so your actually only needing to get cover for the journey.

My mum and Dad usually organise theirs through the bank they are with in the UK and usually get a good deal as an existing customer. They have covered pre existing conditions for them too, the only thing they have had issues covering are past issues with cancer. I think they just had s few questions to answer about current medication s etc.
