Default Just found out I'm prego!

Hey everyone, I'm 13 DPO and got 2 BFP this morning I'm a bit overwhelmed, do I need to get a blood test to confirm or safe to say I'm pregnant? My boobs are massive and sore, had light cramps last week but apart from that all normal. Thanks heaps

Congratulations!! I would book yourself a doctors appointment. They will most likely give you a blood test just to see how high your levels are and then organise your first ultra sound to confirm how far along you are.

Default Just found out I'm prego!

Are u planning on private or public? Some obs will see u as soon as u find ur pregnant which is good they'll do dating scan in rooms and be already avail if u have any first trimester emergencies which is reassuring, often finding the emergency before its really one since they're monitoring closely....

I'm planning to go private, but a lot of people say it can be a waste of money. I think if you're paying for PHC you may as well go private.

Yep I went private, wouldn't consider public. U get a fully qualified ob at minimum, ( much much more likely) u get choices and get better after birth support staying in hosp longer. My hubby a an ob and when he was training he would say publics fine, now he has a private practice he realises how much better he knows each patient and can care for them appropriately. He sees how he can pick up complications and prevent people from having to go to emergency in the middle of the night with a disaster. He's also started noticing how inexperienced some people are when they're training, and thinks glad that wasn't one if my patients.
Obviously it depends on having a good ob.
