@Sally 1981 your friend is kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. I would completely understand if my DH got fired if he was having an episode. (Technically abandoning his employment)
His brother is on a mandatory treatment order because he won't take his meds and that means he MUST present to the hospital once a month for an injection. However, he is nowhere close to "well" enough to function in society.
Some people don't want to be well and don't want to acknowledge they need help.
