Quick question, if I am temping through an agency at a company, and the same agency arranges another job interview at a different company for me and I get the job, who's responsibility is it to tell the current employer?

Perhaps ask the agency? It might be something they take care of.

The agency asked me to tell my current employer and not mention them at all... they way he said it was like he was more worried about his reputation than mine...
I told him I had committed to work here next week but he wants me to start my new role next week... I think that would make me look bad

I would say you have been offered s more secure job and want to start next week but don't want to leave them short. Ask if it's ok for you to start next week. Put it on them. If they say they want you to stay then you can always quit anyway

Sounds to me like the agency don't want to upset the company you're currently temping with, so they want it to make it look like it's all your idea.
I don't think that's particularly fair to put you in that position.
I hope someone with more knowledge about temping can chime in and help you!

Thanks I think that's exactly what he's doing, keeping his relationship with current employer good, but what about me if I want to come back here to work one day?

Who pays you? The agency or the company?
If the agency was looking after me then I'd probably do as they requested.

I don't mind actually informing them myself, it's more that the agency told me NOT to mention them at all.
Then he said once I've told them, to text him, then he will ring them to ask if they need someone else next week and say he just heard from me (as if he knew nothing about it)
