@Jontu and @Mmumm my Dyson stick is 3 years old and always on charge in the holder. I haven't noticed any deterioration as yet in battery life. However I expect it would happen eventually as it does with any rechargeable battery!
@Tamtam no the length is not adjustable. You can put the motor head directly onto the handle part and it looks like on of their handheld models. I'm pretty short (158cm) and I don't have a problem with the length. DS1 who is 191cm has not ever complained either 😊

Stick fixed length. Have the v6 animal. Love it, only prob is can't easily clean out all bits of barrel but I recently hit it with the air compressor so problem solved! Best household item ever, my big vacc is better but the Dyson is u would say better than most full sized vacc just my full sized is pretty darn good so I use it monthly maybe....stick daily or twice daily!

Yeah I'm short too! A little bit shorter than you.
I wondered because I want one for our stairs and tiles downstairs. And it's easier if the stick can be shorter for stairs.

I change attachment for stairs and put the smaller head on. Also take stick off all together and put on soft brush to clean plantation blinds/window tracks etc.

I asked the salesperson the exact same question, they said it is fine to be plugged in all the time. Not sure if that's accurate or not though.

I'll also add that if you have a normal Dyson you can interchange the ends.
