@Summer for only being 8dpo it is a positive start. Any chance you can get some prednisone and start taking that?
@Gagingi sorry to hear about your embryos. I wouldn't worry too much about grading though. We have no idea what some naturally conceived embryos look like at 5 days old.
@tuxcat I am glad your FS is listening and had agreed to do the dose you know that works best for you.

good luck with your cycle @tuxcat. it sounds like a really positive meeting with your FS. I'm hoping it all comes together. it sounds good to try the 400 dose. I really hope it works for you!

Thanks @Charlie74 I totally agree. I did the whole chinese herbs with weekly acu appts. And if anything it helped me to just sit still for an hour. Which is not me. I don't want anymore pressure, including financial. I guess its a mute point for me now as Ive received the call and my transfer is 9.15am Saturday and I had a pre acu session booked for 8.30am. But my clinic is in the city and Im a 45min drive away. So I am going with a positive mind and do some yoga at home before I head in.

You are a mind reader - I have Progesterone pessaries in the fridge, they are 200mg so I'll be putting one in tonight for sure, and if the line happens to get darker, I'll be doing that three times a day until I can get into an FS and get a plan.... Oops. Jumping. Gun. Again.

I had had a tough EPU before the normal blast was transferred last time though. Mmmm.. Who knows?! I also worry that we also have mitochondrial issues which is why our embies are so poor on day 5.

I think what is on your side, if you keep going, is that your embies seem to get good grades - so when you get a normal, it should do well. Plus you've had a successful pregnancy before.
@Gagingi - I think the chromosomal normality and mitochondrial issues are linked. If mitochondria isn't up to scratch there won't be effective meiosis after the trigger shot at the point in time when the chromosomes are aligned . I think the fact you got PGD normal embies probably means your mitochondrial function is ok - the normal embryo just didn't implant for some other reason and that could have been related to your post EPU issues that hopefully you will never have again.

(I had cavitating morulas on day 5 and 6 of this last cycle but they said they couldn't be biopsied as they weren't hatching and so were discarded as they couldn't be frozen because they weren't expanded blasts by day 6).

@Gagingi I'm sorry that things haven't worked out well this cycle. I second what some of the other ladies have said - success doesn't necessarily depend on the quality or grading of the embryo, the slow starters are often the ones that get there in the end. What are your options right now? Are you going to wait until next month and potentially transfer your frostie?

I hear you about the DE issues and I had some similar thoughts. I am a step-mum now, and for quite a while I thought that if I have a DE child with DH's sperm, then I'd just be a step-mum again and not be a "real mum". I watched a program where a lady had DE and at the ultrasound she said to her husband, "look there's your baby" and I thought that was so sad & I didn't want to be that lady. One thing that helped me was a chart I saw that gave ratios of how the child comes into being and it said 1/3 DH, 1/3 DE, 1/3 mother and that helped - knowing that it is my blood, my thoughts, my love building this child, so it did help me to feel that I would be connected to the child and influencing the way he or she developed epigenetically.

The other thing I found helpful was to separate the two things. To acknowledge that I would grieve for not having my own biological child, while at the same time acknowledging that I could love a DE child unconditionally. I think facing the end of my OE and also looking at adopting older children, made me realise that DE was a good option for me to move forward as I could very easily see myself as "Mum" to adopted children, so therefore carrying and birthing a child would definitely make me feel like a real Mum! But it took a while to get to that point. I think seeing the therapist is a good idea and to also see if you can work through the issues with your DH as that is obviously affecting how you are looking at OE versus DE. Good luck hon, it's not an easy ride at all.

I don't have any prednisone at home, but if the line does happen to get darker over the next few days I'll be getting an emergency appointment with an FS and getting on it right away! I have aspirin, clexane, and progesterone here, so can start on those, it's only the pred I don't have. We'll see...

Hmmm. I think it just comes back to clinc policy. Given you've got some frosties I would think the could have frozen them. Maybe if you are there again, push it with your FS, as they have a lot of sway. I had 3-day PGD and they froze the cavitating morula as they didn't have the PGD result back in time for the 5-day transfer. At the time of freezing the cavitating morula was actually late day 4, as I had late EPU and early ET. I read on the net today about some clinics letting embryos go to day 7, or until they succumb.

In retrospect, you are right that I wasn't in great shape at that ET, as I almost had to go back to hospital that night, so hopefully that is why ET failed.

@Summer thank you for your thoughtful reply and insights. Whilst my therapist is great, it might be useful for me/us to see the clinic's psychologist as fertility is their specialty.

Congratulations on the second line - I hope it continues to darken and settles in.
