    Getting ready for school

    The alphabet
    Free play

Then told me kinder is in one room & preschool in another.

I was like, my son knows how to hold a pen, alphabet & amongst other things. Then I questioned myself if I'm doing the right thing. But after she said about preschool and kinder being in another room I'm left thinking where will my son go. I'll find out tomorrow, but again, I will be calling the other kinder.
If he's 4 when you start him it will be kindy, definitely not pre-school. You would be amazed at how many kids can't hold a pen properly.

Free play is a huge part of kindy, so don't be worried from that aspect but definitely try and get in elsewhere.

Which primary school are you zoned for? You should be able to get into the kindy attached to the school easily if you lodged your paperwork there.

I'm interested to see why your saying a child is naturally obese? I mean you can have a chubby baby but as soon as you feed a kid you are educating them on food etc. unless he has a medical condition... Nobody is naturally obese. I am about to have WLS and I know after years and years of people saying she's just bogged boned no I'm not

I'm zoned in ascot park but hubby has decided private school. I'm not convinced so I'm hoping to go to others which I'm not zoned for.

I don't know many people here so I don't know schools, areas etc.

Not silly at all! Different states use different terms for the same thing. In SA, they are essentially the same thing. I have found government schools are normally called "Kindergarten" whereas your private types like Montessori, some private schools and childcare centers refer to it as "Pre-school".
