Good luck with ur first scan and BT tomorrow @onedaymaybebaby!! It's normal to feel off while stimming hun.. It's the rising e2, which means the FSH is working its magic to ripen those eggs!! Chocolate is a must during this time.. One slab of chocolate is a perfect reward for one injection
@VickyP.. I'm glad u took the risk when it was time to
I'm not bored at home yet, however am feeling more tired yes! Which is weird because I'm only lying down and watching movies all day long. Only get up to eat!! .. Hard work doing nothing

Thanks @tjuls I sure did enjoy that chocolate haha 😊

Scan and bloods done! I don't know if this is good/bad/normal?? but scan showed:

    L 9 follicles, lead is 14mm
    R 15 follicles, lead is 12mm

Lining, she didn't tell me measurement but said it needs to thicken a bit more 😊

Will wait to hear from nurse this arvo re bloods and scan and find out when next monitoring is 😊

    Have a great day everyone!!!

WHOA! That's a lot of follies @onedaymaybebaby! Good in a way (Yay to good number of eggs), but watch out for ohss too. Ask about the risks when the nurse calls.

    @hopefulangel1987, hopefully this will help:
    - ohss comes from the jabs (i.e. over stimulation). My dose for Puregon was only 125 but I still came down with it.
    - apparently, a different trigger (not Ovidrel) can reduce it.
    - when that happens, the ET is cancelled and postponed and all embies are frozen. This is because ET will heighten the ohss and when severe, can result in hospitalisation, so the docs won't take the risks.
    - ohss is mainly water retention in the space emptied by the eggs. this means more eggs taken out = more space, so people with pcos and higher number of follies will have a higher risk of it.
    - it feels very terrible for 2 weeks after egg retrieval. I felt and looked like I was 4 months pregnant, constantly bloated and constipated and had to keep drinking Gatorade and eat salty food to reduce the bloatedness. Thankfully, I didn't have to go to the hospital.
    - had to wait 2 months for FET afterwards.

For me, I did acupuncture to get my system back to normal and it took about a month for it to completely go away.
@ABG79 might be able to share some experiences too.

Overall, I would try my darnest to avoid it. (I wasn't diagnosed pcos but the higher number of follies I had was a sure sign of it)

AF arrived today so am on board!
I'm at high risk of OHSS and had it with my previous pregnancy after egg collection. I was on a very low dose of medication too and have a high egg reserve but no PCOS. I agree with @VickyP, it was terrible. I didn't show signs until a few days after the embryo transfer and apparently a positive pregnancy test can exacerbate OHSS. Lucky for me no treatment was needed and 9 months later a beautiful baby.
Primary are playing it safe this time and if too many eggs are collected, i will have all embryos frozen and will have to wait the following cycle for a FET.

Great sign with the scan @onedaymaybebaby!

P.S - is there any easy way to tag you guys? I am typing out each user name and have to go back and make sure I'm spelling it correctly. It doesn't automatically pick it up.

YAY @Lilpingu, welcome onboard! How exciting!

Hope you don't come down with OHSS this time! Are you on stim cycle or FET?

    That's fantastic @Lilpingu!!

I had a text from the nurse at 4pm today to say continue on current dose 225 Gonal f and start Orgalutran tonight. No idea what my blood levels are? Also told that my next scan is scheduled for this Friday @ 11.30am. I phoned them back to find out if I can make the appt for 8am like I did this morning as I was told the other day that those times are usually reserved for 2nd scan ladies. I have a 3hr return trip from where I live let alone the scan time, but unfortunately they are booked solid and 11.30am is the only time available! Makes it really hard with excuses for work! I don't really want to take the day off as I know I will have to for EPU etc... But I guess this is where I have to be thankful that I'm getting a bulk billed service and saving thousands in the process lol!

Aside from that I've left a message for the nurse to call me so I can talk to her about possible OHSS risks etc as there was nothing on the text. I'm hoping this means they are happy with how my levels look and I'm not considered risky at this stage?

I reckon I get more info out of our thread here haha-thanks ladies 😊

Do you think from Friday's scan (CD 9) there is a chance they may know where I'm at with EPU? Or is it more likely I'll have to go back on Monday for a 3rd scan? Such a wait and see game isn't it 😁

I was meant to reply to ur post yesterday about ur scan @onedaymaybebaby, but had problem with bh app again.
Anyways.. You have a good horde of eggs hun!!
    I had similar -8 on R and 14 on L.
By their size, they seem to be growing well, ur lead follicle will reach 18mm by Friday for sure.
U have plenty of time between now and EPU for ur lining to thicken.
Very comprehensive details of ohss @VickyP Very useful info!!
Yippee @Lilpingu!! Looks like u're starting soon .. I don't know how to short tag everyone I'm afraid..so I write out the full username ..haha
