    Default Picnic Food ideas

    Hi ladies

I totally forgot that hubby and I are going to a concert tomorrow night (Simply Red) and am in desperate need for some ideas for what to pack in our picnic basket. As i have to work, i have about an hour in total to get something together, so really needing some quick suggestions on what I can pack.

    Ideas so far include:

Cold meat & cheese board (has to be pre cut as knives are not allowed)

    Choc brownie

    Grapes

Am having a total mind blank so any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!!

    Thanks everyone 😊

Oh how exciting. I like the cheese board idea.

Maybe chicken, avo and coleslaw mini subs/wraps. Roast beef, horseradish cream and rocket mini subs. Turkey, brie and cranberry mini subs.

    Strawberries and chocolate sauce

    Mixed berries/fruit salad

Mini quiches (not that quick but if you can buy some from a nice deli)

    Have a nice time!

My go to picnic food is the pressed italian sandwich - you make it the night before , wrap in plastic and squash it down so all the flavours blend together ( I out my cast iron pans on top of it!) and just cut it before you leave - I get crusty bread and go to the deli and buy : pesto, roasted capsicum and eggplant, basil, rocket, provelone cheese and then add boiled egg for mine or get proscuitto or salami for the meat eaters! Heaps of recipes on pintrest It looks like this:
