@ChinaDoll4 Hi id lovd to hear about your experiences with embryoland as im currently checking out 3 different clinics and it would be great to know how you felt about that.
Also, for anyone wondering about cash/cards overseas, citibank offers an account with no overseas atm withdrawal fees and no fees for converting aud to foreign currency, and their exchange rate is competitive. Has a keycard with a credit card number so you can press credit when you eftpos b ut its with your own money. Can be a good idea to open one and put emergency mo ey in that account and know that even if you made lots of small withdrawals, you wont be paying hefty atm withdrawal fees. (I dont work for citibank either- i used their account last time i went overseas)

@******** yes it is you just have to activate your frequent flyer card, that's what we used, hardly any fees for atm withdrawals, the fees we did get charged were the countries bank fees so I think we got charged about $9 aud for our whole trip, it's a MasterCard based one

    Hi @gorgeousgeorge

Sorry for the delayed response but I have come down with a chest cold and feeling bloody awful.

My experience with Embryoland/Dr Kanakas has been positive from the very 1st email I sent. Dr Kanakas is responsive, invested, attentive, eccentric, warm and funny. After 13 years trying to complete our family and many mis carriages I needed to go with a clinic that treated me as others before me had described Embryoland.

And like the rest of our journey to this point it has been an emotional and harrowing ride. Having a specialist whom responds so quickly, answers all your questions and is as funny and kind as Dr Kanakas has been heaven sent. We are currently on the islands but I had my treatment a few weeks ago. Our donor gave us 11 eggs which was so hopeful but sadly only 7 turned into embryos and just 1 made it to blastoycyst. We were devastated as we had always banked on back up embryos.

A few days ago I woke up with some spotting and also had a negative result from a store bought pregnancy test, so we assumed we had been unsuccessful. I called Dr Kanakas on Skype, he answered immediately and knew straight way I had been crying. He was genuinely devastated but told me to keep taking all my meds.

Today I took another test and there were 2 lines. The second one is sooooo faint but so was my test when we had our son 7 years ago. I called Dr K and he was absolutely stoked for us. We will be back in Athens in a couple of days for a blood test.

So it's been quite the ride, as is so for every woman on this forum but regardless of the outcome I am incredibly grateful to have chosen Embryoland. It has provided the care and comfort I needed that goes beyond prescriptions and ultrasounds.

Good luck with your decision. This has been my story but I urge you to go with your gut instinct regardless of whom you choose.
