    2) Can anyone tell me how they reacted to the prognova and if so how soon after taking it ? I have only been on 1 tablet for a few days and seem awfully bloated!

    3) May I ask if you did double embryo transfers or just went with one and if you went with 2 did it result in twins?

    4) Did anyone have serious second thoughts just before leaving?

    Thanks so much.
    Hi China Doll

I think I saw you are going to Embryoland like we did...here are my answers to you questions

    1) Did you all just take enough meds for the flight and buy more once in Athens? I took meds over with me (I didn't need as many because we used a donor). Dr Nikos then prescribed us a whole lot when we got there. I suggest you ask him for extra progesterone ones because they are SO much cheaper over there.

    2) Can anyone tell me how they reacted to the prognova and if so how soon after taking it ? I was ok on the Prognova, even when I was up to 5 a day. They may have made me a bit cranky though. Everyone will react differently, hang in there they will hopefully be worth it in the end. Also be prepared to take them for a while too if all goes to plan, I had to take these until I was 14 weeks pregnant.

    3) May I ask if you did double embryo transfers or just went with one and if you went with 2 did it result in twins?
After talking with Dr Nikos we decided to transfer 2 embryos. I am now 18 weeks pregnant with one little boy. There are no guarantees with what will happen with all of this though.

    4) Did anyone have serious second thoughts just before leaving? Yes! I was definitely nervous and had a few second thoughts run through my mind. The minute I arrived and met Dr Nikos though I felt a lot better and was excited and a lot more confident - you are definitely in good hands.

@******** the only thing I'd say is to make sure you tell each of your treating physicians what you are taking as some of the medications, including herbs can interact with each other.

@ChinaDoll4 I didn't go OS for my DE cycle, I did it here...but I can say my partner wasn't having second thoughts so much...but on the way to our dinner to meet our donor for the first time he did ask if it was too late to get a puppy! Um Yes!! I think our little one will get the nickname of Pup!

Cant believe I just lost what I had written.
@******** I also saw a Chinese Doctor and whilst I enjoyed the experience he was quite negative about doing IVF at all and his attitude was it will be ok. Well no amount of Chinese medicine was going to get me pregnant with MFI and even if he got a 50 year old pregnant naturally I was realistic about my ages and prospects.
I see an Acupuncturist who also does Chinese medicine and she is awesome and so supportive. I love the experience and always leave feeling happy and relaxed.
@ChinaDoll4 I used Clexane for NK Cells and Lynn my FS suggested to use it before long haul flights. This as well as compression socks are so underestimated. I also did an endometrial scratch and both times I did it I got a BFP however last years was with my eggs and ended with a miscarriage. Now just over 12 weeks. Enjoy the experience you are in good hands and enjoy the Greek food - its delicious.

    Hi Gen 72!

What were the costs involved with known egg donors?

I know you pay the group $13k approx.

I assume you would have to pay full price for egg collection $5-6k.

    Then your transfer...$2k.

    Drugs?

    Additional costs?

    Thanks heaps

Hi , I sent an email to them & they sent back a breakdown of costings . Took a while to get a response so sent a request twice . It seemed to me to be closer to 35k , I could be wrong but at the time OSED was more economical ..

@Gold Coastie & @ Lucky8 maybe not quite $35k, but I think just over $30k. If you either of you would like my figures let me know.

But OS ED is definitely cheaper...just depends what you want as a whole.

Hi , We are going to Santorini first to have a break as its been a loooooong haul with all this fertility drama & it's well deserved time to take a nice rest before hand . Our costs will be part holiday part ED so it's all relative really . In the end for 25k I will get ED & stay in a lovely island for 5 nights & see a city we've never visited - that was our thought process

@******** sounds like you need a new Dr. Your Dr should be supportive even if he doesnt agree. I suggest you go a bit futher for better service.
