I'm going to see how I feel next week. we're going to adelaide for the w/e so my BT's not till mon 15th now (was sat 13th). I said to DP that I could bring some to try over the w/e so we know before the test. I'll prob give in and test earlier though

@Summer - that's interesting. Even if I give up IVF I intend to keep trying naturally as long as I'm still hormonally ok and producing eggs. May as well go for that 1% change per month of conceiving.

@Blossom74 - that's rubbish that only an Fs can order AMH test. Before I started IVF my GP ordered mine the same time as I did day 21 bloods to make sure I was ovulating. She definitely treated it as stock standard. I think it's a good thing to know but whether it's low or high is not any determinant of success. Lot of people with a normal level e.g me aren't successful and lot of people with a low level are successful. It's another aspect of the old quality over quantity issue.

My GP checked it initially ($70-80 from QML) - lots of women get it checked who never need to see an FS... The government does from time-to-time change what GPs can order (e.g. they've recently changed thyroid BT rules), but as it is user-pay why would they care? Professionally I've sometimes had to educate GPs on what they are allowed to do... Can you ask QML if GP can request it and then go back to GP?

My bt is next Friday 12th. Wasn't expecting it that early. It's supposed to be the Saturday but they've brought it forward a day. In the past they would've made me wait til the Monday. So due to the pregnyl I think I'm going to try and hold out til the bt. It's only 8 days really right?!?! 😁😁😆

@Caesardust congrats on the transfer and hope you get through the torturous 2ww without going crazy! @Blossom74 I was keen to get the AMH test done but I can't recall the result and my FS said the usual line 'it's good for your age' well it hasn't done be any good thus far!
Interesting to read all the comments on donor eggs, it is something I am going to explore myself as a plan B. Although IVF is hard bloody work I do find it all so fascinating, wish I had my time again (and had the brains for it!)

@Blossom74 Yep...my first AMH test was done by my original FS and the repeat one I got my GP to request. I had it done by QML also.

Agree with @Charlie74 Luv. Push for it whether it be from your GP again or from your FS. It's a load of frucking sh!t your GP can't order the test btw. If you go through your FS he'll no doubt tell you everything we already have in terms of it not being accurate or reflecting egg quality etc. You can tell him you're aware of this but you still want it done for your own peace of mind anyway.

    Can't see why he wouldn't???

One of the reasons we were looking at o/s as our plan B was the stories we had heard about local donors. Everything from access visits to regular updates on 'their' childs progress to sending birthday cards were some examples. It just didn't feel like the right plan for us. Anonymous is way at the other end of the spectrum though so an interesting conundrum.
