Oh and even though egg and sperm donation is anonymous in CT, with one of the ED clinics the ED's can tick a box saying that if the law should change whether they would be open to future contact. I think there is a bit of lobbying to change the anonymity.

@Tahli did you see the thread on bubhub with the lady that got 5 heartbeats on her scan!? Holy jebus.

Thanks for thinking of me & @Blossom74 too - things are tense to say the least. It appears he's having massive stress with his business and feels under pressure from all areas. Staff are causing drama, there are never ending cash flow problems where he has to outlay huge amounts of money before the $$ come in 90 days later, (very profitable, but stressful day to day), his eldest son is giving him grief, we have court for custody of his youngest son starting next week, we're in the middle of building a house... I think he's overwhelmed and not dealing with it all particularly well.

So right now I'm being the bigger person and am trying my best to support him and relieve some of the pressure wherever I can. But that means the baby talk has not come up again. Because my cycle was all stuffed up and now my timing doesn't work the way I was hoping, I'm planning on seeing my FS next week and getting a plan like @Blossom74 where my cycle is managed so I can fit one or two in before I turn 45 and time it in-between my traveling. I will need DH on board, so I'm just biding my time to pick the right moment to bring it up as I have no time to waste. I think he will be OK with it if he knows for sure that this is the end of my OE journey and the cut off is when I turn 45. I don't think he'll deny me that. But as for talking DE, that might have to come a bit later once he's in a better place and not quite as overwhelmed. I'm doing my research so I'll aim to get through OE first, and then I'll have a good starting point to approach him about DE.

Unless we split up. Then I'm f**ked.

I hate to sound ungrateful, but there is no way on God's green earth I could handle FOUR babies at once! I reckon one would be a challenge to a woman with a short fuse such as myself

I take my hat off to the lovely woman on Surprised By 5, who recently gave birth to 5 beautiful babies. She is Superwoman I reckon.

Hi blossom74 with us it was quite an easy decision to make to go to CT. They have tonnes of young donors readily available. For us age was a huge factor I really wanted the youngest most decent donor I could find! It also helps that the clinic we use does ED every day, they are very well organized and very clued into everything, have back up embryos for you if your donor doesn't produce as well. Oh and of course a holiday thrown in!
My understanding of Ed in aus is that you have to find your own donor? Correct me if I'm wrong as I don't really know. My IVF clinic told me to advertise for donor myself. Then maybe you meet and decide. Was scared of heartbreak if we couldn't find someone or if they changed their minds. Just us though I accept everyone needs to do what works for them.

hi @Tinachris Yes its law in Australia that all donor conceived children have access to the donors details (I am assuming it's at 18yrs old). I am not sure about other countries but for some the donors are anonymous by law. I tried to find out if there were an O/S clinics that did known ED but I didn't get very far.

I asked Wazza about my being on DHEA as I have PCOS (i.e. higher testosterone). This was after our discussion on here a few weeks ago about it not being recommended for PCO/PCOS women and he said it should be considered on an individual basis for over 40s with PCOS. So hopefully if ladies who do have PCOS (who read this), won't stress as long as they have a good FS they trust. With me he did stop it a week or so before I started stimming and is also balancing it during stimming with Progynova.

Ditto. Along with her 3 other kids of course! My goodness. She should post some babies to this thread.

Oh gosh hon, I do hope it doesn't come to that. I agree that it sounds like your DH is under a lot of pressure at the moment, but at the same time, they say "There is no right time to have a baby." And frankly I would argue that at 45 it's a bl@@dy good time to be thinking about it, especially if you're considering OE's!
