@Charlie74 my personal theory why my AMH was so high was that I'd never taken the pill when I was younger. Tried it when I was in my 20's got horribly sick so didn't last a month. Fast forward 20 years later and AMH is in the top 10 percentile. Then when the FS put me on it for my adeno/ endo (only queasy this time) my amh plunges. Not scientific I know but it's plausible.

They often say that the day of ur test doesn't matter, but I've actually read some stuff that said the cycle date DOES matter.

I just figure it means I'm a while a way from menopause, my mum was WELL into her mid 50's before she hit any signs of menopause - so I see it as a gauge of that more than anything.

Unfortunately with my DP having sperm issues I'll probably never really know whether the quality of my eggs is good not. Impossible to know where the problem lies when he also has issues. We get >50% fertilisation but then go pear shaped by day 5. The embryologist last cycle told me my eggs looked 'exactly as we would want them to look' when I asked about quality. Which at the end of the day tells me nothing really bcos I'm sure I've read that they can look great but still be duds!
Correct!! They can only tell you if your eggs are mature or not or if there's any obvious sign of them being duds like the egg zona being thick or the eggs themselves showing discolouration etc.

They can't tell you whether your eggs are chromosomally normal or not, same as the sperm under the microscope. So in theory, yes, both can "look great" and still be sh!tters...same as the embryo's. Only way to know is to test the embryo's.

Yeah, doctors suck. My AMH was less than 3 and I was told I was completely infertile and to not bother freezing my eggs at 39 because I had none. Four pregnancies later (although my eggs may not have been good quality, there were definitely some there!) No one told me the AMH can change, especially if you are vitamin D deficient, have thyroid issues, or autoimmune problems. It can improve a lot with the right treatment, so @Tahli it looks like you're on the right track to do a cycle with OE - that has to be a good sign that both quality and quantity have improved. Go for it!

@Charlie74 - yes! This was me last cycle - two embryos described by the embryologist as " good blastocysts " one of them an AB grade and both turned out to be Sh!tters. This cycle I didn't ask anything about the grading as I don't want false hope nor did I want to hear they were crap quality either to totally screw my brain for the next 3 weeks!

green lady, fwiw I think my last cycle was my best numbers wise too. and it was a bfp for a couple of weeks. and I was a couple of months off 45yo by then. I think my 2 best cycles were first and last. first for getting a frostie, but lower numbers of embryos (had 2 from start to finish). I think my appendix affected something as the cycles close to it (before) weren't good but things improved after recovery. I had pretty much the same prep meds the whole time, they only changed the gonal-f dose in the last 2 cycles & added different support post-transfer. I hadn't been on the pill since early-mid 90s, + in 2005 for a few months.

I remember reading about a woman who was told don't waste your money on IVF because her AMH was so low. Tried on her own (just took supplements) and had her first bub at 43. She then decided to try for #2. After a couple of loses she got pregnant again and had her second at 46! So much for no egg reserves.

Thanks for all of your AMH feedback girls. I have no idea what to make of my numbers TBH. I know it's no indication of quality but it does show I'm not menopausal yet!
@Charlie74 When you have your 1st FET lining scan on CD13/14 how many days from transfer will you be?
