Dd1 starts year 3 and dd2 starts prep. I have bought NOTHING.
Dd1 only needs a new sports uniform as her formal uniforms still fit. We buy 1 sports uniform and 2 formal uniforms- they wear formal Mon, Tues, thurs and sports wed and Fri. Oh and she needs new shoes (lynx black sneakers).
Dd2 will need 2 or 3 sports uniforms as she wears it every day. Plus the same shoes as dd1.
Bag wise we just buy from Kmart/big w. Same with lunch boxes. Every classroom has a fridge and they prefer no insulated lunch boxes as they take up too much room.
Stationary and books we just hand the list into a local newsagency and they do it all for us. Probably more expensive but it saves me running all over town for specialty items like text books etc.
I am lucky that my grandad offers to pay for uniforms every year (this year he is paying for dd2's uniforms as she needs more than dd1).
I like that our school does a drop in day the week before school goes back where kids can take all their books etc in, see what class they are in and meet the teacher etc so they aren't having to carry a big heavy bag in on the first day.

What do u buy for sports uniform exactly?

Normally schools have a formal uniform, a button down cotton shirt with formal shorts/skort/skirt or dress.
The sports is normal a polo with a quick dry shorts. All our schools have have had the monogrammed so you could just buy any.
Some private schools even have sports and formal socks.
Some schools we have been to required their branded school bags at $80 a piece.
Their branded socks. Hair bands even the swimmers and rashie.

I'll have to look didn't take much notice of the sports uniform 😑. DDs school has a branded school bag. Was only $40 from memory tho and is amazing quality.

I just had another look at the schools uniform policy, reason I missed it is because it doesn't actually specify a sports uniform, just says a sports uniform can only be worn while performing that sport. So I'm guessing a separate change of suitable clothes from the uniform list is what's required

DS school doesn't require sports uniform for infants school - they just take off their ties and swap shoes , only for swimming I need to get the school swimming speedos but that's for 1st class and it's not until 3rd class we need to get their sports uniform for school then depending on what sport he chooses the individual sports uniforms for Saturday sports

My ds will be starting kindy and my dd year 1 (nsw).
They have sports 2 days a week and for those 2 days wear sports uniform for the whole day. This is great because it means they don't have to change, their bags are so heavy already ! I have a uniform for each day as I don't have a dryer and normally don't wash weekdays.
This year the school changed the sports uniform so now it's the same for both boys and girls and is a polo top and short. This is great bc when dd outgrows hers and I can pass down to ds!

DD3 starts prep this year and so far we have her book list/School supplies (it was delivered to our house), her uniform (preps wear the sports uniform only) but we're waiting on her School bag which has a back order and we need to buy some School shoes (which is always a joy this time of year).
So far she's practiced getting her uniform off (skorts) for when she needs to go to the toilet, she's fine with opening and closing her lunch box etc, but my biggest worry is her asking to go to the toilet when she needs to, so we're having lots of chats about that!

School started today! Just on the way home now - I had a little cry when he put his uniform on but there was no time to cry at school as all the kids just ran off and started playing which was great !
