    Following.

Had planned on hiring a capsule + compatible pram via Hire for Baby, they install in Vic for no extra charge as well.

We had 3 and we hired for all 3.

The first 2 times we got brand new maxi cosis and the 3rd time it was slightly used but perfectly cleaned. We had no issues with them.

If you can find a really good supplier you will definitely get a great, clean, safe product.

I hired through Kidsafe house for each of my kids.

Was good because in that time period, the models changed and we were able to hire the newest model each time.

One of my children was still very small at 6 months and they let me extend for free until she was big enough to come out of the capsule. (not sure if they still allow free hire extensions, this was a few years ago now).

Yeah I know of course we'd never put them forward before they were ready. DS was rear facing until about 9 months. Luckily our current car seat (0-4yrs) fits in my car which will be used most often. As other posters have said, you can always extend a hired capsule if needed. We're hoping DH will have a new car by then (he has company cars that are changed often). 😊

My original post was just intended to give basic info.

You'll still have to buy a 0-4y seat anyway as bubs outgrow capsules long before it's a good idea to forward face....

Default Capsule - buy vs hire

When it comes to car seats I like to buy new- so that I know the history of the seat. I've seen capsules resell really well so I'm not too concerned about it costing me much as I'll probably end up out of pocket the same amount as I would if I had hired, once I've sold ours. It'll also do multiple children for us.
