Default For those who live in Cairns?

What are the best suburbs to live in for a family? I seem to like the look of Whitfield and redlynch?
And how bad is unemployment overall?

Redlynch is an excellent suburb to live in; lots of families, great schools and gorgeous scenery. But because it is such a sought after suburb, house prices are higher. We were recently looking out there but just couldn't find a house in our price range.

I've been told that Mount Sheridan and the new section of Edmonton are the up and coming suburbs to live in.

I used to live in Redlynch and that is totally the best spot with everything and easy access North, South or city. It's also a bit cooler than Redlynch valley.
