A funky tin or vase or bowl. Check out the Kmart appreciation thread, the posters in there have lots of great ideas

I have you pegged as a no clutter type of chick, but I would purchase some Orla Kiely cake tins or tea/coffee canisters and have them on the bench. Or some funky mugs on a mug tree. Ooh! Or a spice rack or two. Or a nice clock. Or some wall art.

(Basically just describing my kitchen here!)

I would buy a really really nice cook book (one with a gorgeous cover that you just love, doesn't matter what the recipes are like!) and stand it in a really lovely cookbook stand. I would source a lovely big platter or bowl in colours that match said cookbook for displaying fruit and then pair this with a new knife block - either a white or stainless steel and buy colourful knives in the same colour way as platter/cookbook or a colourful stand with plain knives.

I would usually have my fruit bowl at this end that has nothing there currently. I also don't really like my timber knife block in this kitchen so would be willing to replace it. Bonus points if you have links to actual products 😜

I would leave it, it looks amazing!!! I love uncluttered space and this just ticks all the boxes of a lovely, clean, uncluttered kitchen area.

Can you get any kind of overlay for the splash back to add some colour/texture?

Maybe a Kokedama like in the picture and a small print behind it on the far wall? Or a brightly coloured platter for fruit?
