It's up to you. 2 out of 3 of my bubs had dummies. I offered it to DD 3 but she only used it for a while and then wasn't interested (ended up sucking on her wrap though later. Yuck!). Like some of the other mums it is only for sleep time and we give them up at around 2.5 years old. I was surprised how easy it was to give up. They understand a lot more than u think at that age.
