Ahhh so presents are wrapped, pavlova made, gingerbread cooling on the table. Currently watching Frozen while waiting for the Carols to start. DH mowed the lawn but hasn't yet done the floors. As much as it bugs me that they're a bit dirty, we won't be home tomorrow so I can forget about it a little bit haha.

I made a double batch of shortbread this afternoon but wasn't happy with how it turned out. Attempt number two is in the oven now.

I still have about 7 or 8 presents left to wrap and may do some more cooking depending on how I feel.

It 9pm, I'm about to go for a massage, just waiting for my brother to come and sleeping child mind.
Presents just wrapped. Santa's biscuit half eaten, rudolphs cucumber nibbled and I'm ready for bed!

Oh no! Don't say that. I've been hanging out for these ones, they're always my favourite. Must say I did cringe when they mentioned Daryl Somers... David Hobson is one of my faves singing The Holy City (if he follows tradition) and Marina Prior singing Angels We Have Heard On High (although she was on the channel 7 carols the other night so i can only hope she's on tonight)!

I was watching the Sydney ones the other night and it really peeved me that Channel 7 use it as an excuse to flog their own networks "stars" whether it be people from home and away, X factor etc plus they had loads of sound issues so they were a bit sh!t. I still watched them though.

I am a fan of Marina Prior (she went to my old school; Korowa Anglican Girls' School!)...so I hope she does us proud

    Darryl Somers...hmmm, we shall see.

I always watch Carols, it brings back lovely childhood memories, even if it is tragic! My hubby hates it!! (He's a Queenslander, he doesn't understand.).

Marina is like the Carols Queen. She could never put a foot wrong.

I'm not sure what you mean by your DH hating them because he's a Queenslander... I'm a Queenslander and I love them. DH too. Mind you, he has no choice in the matter lol

I meant because I grew up with Carols, as a Victorian, and therefore have strong childhood associations. As a Queenslander, he has only been watching since we got married 10 years ago...and he has been complaining for 10 years!

My hubby is trying to tell me that Marina has had botox...surely not!!

Hahaha, it must be a boy thing. We grew up watching them every year, it's a Christmas Eve tradition (when I don't have to work). This year however, my DH just broke my heart by telling me he doesn't know half the songs that are being sung... So disappointed in him right now...
