    Default Nth qld cyclone

We are going to cairns for our Xmas holiday. Plane and accommodation are all booked. I'm now stressing about the cyclone.
We have day trips planned for the weekend. Should I take the risk or should I try and change it? I have travel insurance but not sure if I can use it
I have no idea what to do. Please need helpful advice
    TIA

How long will you be in cairns? What day so you arrive?

Imo it to early to make a decision yet.

    Leave it.

They should offer to reschedule for you if they need to close for safety/weather reasons.

Stick with Saturday - if they do get torrential rain Thurs/Fri then the falls will be phenomenal.

Pack rain gear and enjoy yourself.

Remember at the moment it's just a low sitting in the gulf with only a 50% chance of turning into a cyclone. There's no cyclone at the moment.

I used to live in Cairns, in Redlynch actually which is where the Kuranda train departs from and you are heading up in the wet season, which can be pretty unpredictable, but at this stage, the cyclone might not even eventuate. The wet season in Cairns is pretty tame compared to Darwin, the electrical storms up there were insane....are you doing the skyrail too?

It will just be a usual wet season week. The cyclone is in the gulf and shouldn't have too much impact on Cairns.

That's my theory and since I have left my house in Cairns uncyclone ready and gone to Brisbane for Christmas I hope I'm right.

Yes doing the sky rail. I might see how it goes and reschedule if the weather isn't good. Fingers cross.

Its the wet season. Regardless of whether or not there's a cyclone, it will be raining on and off during your time in Cairns.

IMO rainy/cloudy weather is the best time to see the rainforest.
