    Default Quick cold/flu remedies

    Morning,

I desperate for something that will relieve some of the symptoms of this horrid cold. I thought it was at it's worst over the weekend but yesterday and overnight it has gotten worse 😣

I am 25 weeks pregnant so that means I can't have alot of things. What can I take ?(over the counter or natural.....I don't care at this point). The main things I want relief from are Sinus congestion and coughing (my throat and stomach are so sore from coughing).

I have had next to no sleep after coughing all night and completely over it.

It really sucks being sick when pregnant. Could you try a hot lemon and honey drink for your cough and a saline nasal spray for you sinuses (I'm pretty sure Fess have a good adult one but just ask your pharmacist). Good luck, hope you're feeling better soon.

Get a ventilator for your room overnight. Works a treat on sinuses

There are sinus sprays available when pregnant. Speak to your chemist. It helped enormously with me.
    Second the vaporiser.
You can so take paracetamol and codeine if really desperate.

    Get well soon xxx

Another one for the Fess especially to stop the post-nasal drip.

    Lots of fluids and rest.

    Hot steamy showers.

We have a local Japanese place that does big bowls of ramen soup - I always get one of these with garlic and chilli whenever I'm feeling crook and it works a treat.

I would go to the pharmacy and get the pharmacists advice on what to take - they'll know what is and isn't safe for pregnancy.

Will be sending Hubby to the Chemist when he wakes up (he finished a 12 hour night shift at 6am this morning!!!) Hoping they can give me something to make me feel better during the day so I can go to work tomorrow......don't want to miss our work Christmas Lunch! Hoping Hubby doesn't get it too. Don't need to be losing money this time of year (he only gets paid for 8 hours sick leave instead of the 12 hours he would on a work day and also misses out on his 33.5% shift loading = lots of money gone)

FESS Saline Nasal sprays are non medicated and preservative free so safe for using during pregnancy and breast feeding.
The Eucylyptus spray is great for cold/flu or if you need something a bit more heavy duty for severe sinus congestion the FESS congestion relief spray mist is fantastic. They also have the sinus washes but I'd recommend the mist because it's more convenient. You'll get them at any pharmacy. Feel better soon!
