We have a lazyboy rocker recliner and its fantastic. ..so comfortable. I have a bad back too and find you dont sink into it. Super easy to get out of.

Default Glider chair vs rocking chair

Depends on the rocking chair. The glider chairs are great because the seat isn't too deep and the back is nice and straight and supportive. And the gliding footrest is awesome! But you probably could find another rocking chair with similar features. Don't get one that's super squishy that you sink into. They are comfy but hard to get out of while holding bub, particularly if they are sleeping!!
