As requested, here is a thread where Make-up aficionados or anyone interested in all things make-up, can chat, discuss and recommend all things make-up!
I'm by no means an expert and I don't walk around with a full face of make-up everyday, but I do love me some make-up and dare I say am a bit of a make-up hoarder. In no particular order, some of my favourite brands (though I'm bound to forget some, so off the top of my head) are:
MAC, NARS, Bobbi Brown, Urban Decay, Chanel, Too Faced, Lancome, Stila, Sephora, Fusion, Georgio Armani, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Benefit.
Feel free to post, ask questions, put up pics of purchases, wish lists, whatever takes your fancy.![]()

I wear make up every day but I'm pretty boring with what I do.
With foundation, I usually wear MAC on a daily basis and Estee Lauder for special occasions. But for eyeshadow and eyeliner I get a brand called Lakme from India as the colours suit my skin tone.

I'm having withdrawals! Last makeup I bought was these 3 lipsticks when i was trying to find a lipstick for my wedding.
In the end I went with CD, Rouge Dior, Times Square. So pretty!

And no they're not the same colour at all!

I'm subbing! I need to get better at this make up caper - so looking forward to learning from the pros!
My favourite make up item at the moment is my mascara - it's Kevyn Aucoin 'The Volume Mascara'.
I do need a good tinted moisturiser or BB cream or something similar to wear during the day so any suggestions would be appreciated (I have olive combination skin).

Pfft they are so not the same colour. So pretty though! I had a red lip for my wedding. Used a MAC prolongwear lipstick. Cannot recall the name but I used MAC brick lipliner underneath. Love red lips.
Went and bought some 'holiday packs' from Mecca Maxima. The Too Faced lipsticks in glitter bag, the melted lipsticks (these are fabulous!), mascara, some Josie Maran lip and cheek jelly stuff that looked so interesting I had to buy.
Some of my favs are my Hourglass blush (drool!) and the ambient lighting powder (the really pale one) - their gel pencil is fabulous too!
I have Bobbi Brown skin foundation which is lightweight but has decent coverage. I am eyeing of some YSL lipsticks. I can't choose what atm. I am hoping for a gift card for Mecca for Christmas.
In skincare news the Bobbi Brown eye cream is AMAZEBALLS! So hydrating and no reaction (I have reacted to every eye cream I have tried). And will be trying out the Philosophy 'purity' facewash once I am finished with my current one.

After wearing next to no makeup for years, unless a special occasion, I'm trying to get a small collection of some good basics. I've decided I'm looking a bit old and haggard! I blame my kids!
I've just purchased a NARS concealer thingy, a stila liquid eyeliner and the naked1 palette, yay! I need to find a nice but very light foundation or powder type thing, but no idea what to get there.

I find going to counters (or Mecca/Sephora) and asking for help is the best way. They will ask your skin type, what coverage/finish etc. If you don't know they will help! I have dry skin - as above I use the Bobbi Brown skin foundation. I want to try the serum one next (due to dry skin). Powder - I tend to use translucent. Good luck! I find makeup shopping fun (it was overwhelming for a while). Just talk to staff about what you want.
