Can anyone share their experience with Ritalin? We have been very reluctant to trial it but, despite the really wonderful benefits its had, DS's anxiety with the dexamphetamine is becoming unmanageable for him, not to mention the constipation, and so his paediatrician has asked us to give Ritalin a try.
First dose this morning and an hour later when I asked him how he felt he said 'shivery and sad and sick.' He was devastated when I left the class, fretful and crying his little heart out. Hopefully it's just a transition and he will do well because he was miserable this morning.
I was very reticent to start him mid-school-week, but I can't watch him go through this anxiety anymore.
