I used to buy the kraft Mac n cheese in the box but have made it myself the last few times but hubby still isn't happy, said it lacks flavour. Have tried a few online but thought some lovely ladies on here might have a recipe I can try. I'd much rather make it myself from scratch so hit me with ur tried and tested Mac n cheese recipes pls!

This is a fave in our house:
1 tin evaporated milk
1/2 tsp mustard powder
Grated cheddar cheese (original recipe said 1 cup but i usually add around 2 big handfuls)
1 tin cream of chicken soup
Diced bacon if desired
In a separate saucepan, combine all other ingredients and stir until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
Add sauce to pasta and mix well.
Pour into casserole dish and top with more cheese.
Bakenin oven at about 180 until cheese on top is melted and bubbling.

Ok so not sure of amounts but this is what i did tonight and its delish.
Made my usual cheese sauce ( flour, butter, milk, grated cheddar cheese and shaved parmesan cheese) then i added garlic, wistoshire sauce, pepper, teaspoon of dijon mustard and half a can of cream of chicken condensed soup. i put in a baking dish, topped with breadcrumbs and in the oven till nice and golden on top.
served with steamed broccoli, cauliflower and marinated steak. Hubby loved it.

Gruyere cheese and a some Dijon mustard! gives it that gourmet taste and really enhances the flavour.

I always use the kraft one in the blue box.... but I add extra cheese slices and also cook bacon, mushrooms and shallots and stir it through before serving
