I'm a current patient of Lynn's and sent her office an email as soon as I saw the AFR article. What was missing from the article is how it impacts her patients- and there are many of us!

In particular, I want to know:
    - Why weren't we told by her office or via Monash IVF
-How does this impact frozen embryos we have with Monash. Do we need to use a new Dr to transplant now?
    - I was aiming to do a new egg collection with Lynn in August. If she is out in Sept- who follows up and completes my treatment?

I got a call from her office today and it really put me on edge. Maria from her office said that no one knows what will happen, she can't answer any of my q's and that we need to be supporting Lynn and her staff.

I said, "Actually, shouldn't one of the bigger concerns be on her patients than staff? For them, it's a job, for us we are desperately trying to have a baby". Then I got told to check Lynn's instagram for updates. WTF?

I feel this is another (major) hurdle in an already stressful and hard IVF journey.

Thanks for sharing the information. I feel like we are not provided with any communication to make an informed decision.

Wow! It sounds to me like it's Lynn against Monash IVF. She's in the middle of a court case wanting to continue with her patients elsewhere with Monash telling her she can't. I guess she won't know what she can practise until that's decided. Maybe it would be a good time to look for other possibilities just in case? It's harsh that she can't tell her patients anything yet but it sounds like she's that good that people will follow her if they can and will wait. I'd be looking at the next best option for me if I couldn't wait.

Default Lynn Burmeister Monash IVF-feedback wanted please #6

I telephoned today as well, I'm currently going through a cycle with pickup on Friday for a freeze all for pgd testing. Hoping to get a fet in before she leaves. They wouldn't elaborate on who would be taking on current patients, just said Lynn will still be available to guide you through your fet. I'm unsure as to pursue another fertility specialist. I really don't want to swap doctors, she knows my history. I have had a few miscarriages lately with a pgd normal embryo and now I have numerous immune issues going on.

I've just called to book a scratch with the intention of a FET the following cycle - at best I'll get one transfer in before Lynn leaves and then what? Also no mention from her admin staff of Lynn leaving, or informing me that I can only do one cycle with Lynn.
I'm kind of ok for a couple of cycles if needed as I have a few frozen embryos and I guess it doesn't make a huge difference who does the actual transfer, its just what if any protocol to go with it. I'm pretty sure Monash wont make it easy to release and transfer frozen embryos to a new clinic, they'll do whatever they can to keep people locked in to them as long as they can.

My concern after reading a few articles on this is the potential 3 year non competition clause - how on earth can Lynn help anyone if she's out of the game for 3 years (hence the court case I guess)

Anyway, as someone above mentioned, it just makes an already stressful time even more stressful. Good luck to everyone!

Just on the subject of frozen embryos, I moved some to Monash from City Fertility and it was a very simple process, so unless some sort of law has changed I believe it would be just as easy to move them somewhere else if needed- you have to complete a form and pay a courier fee and of course the storage fees at the new clinic.

We pay for them so we 'own' them, not the clinic. But again this was a couple of years ago so something may have changed.

I am no longer Lynn's patient but I do feel for all of you who are currently seeing her, as if infertility wasn't stressful enough but now having to deal with this is awful.

I am an ex patient of lynn and I am sorry you are going through this unnecessary add-on stress. I moved embryos from Monash to qfg last year and it was relatively straight forward, it did require a few follow up emails/calls to the Monash coordinator but it only took a few weeks and payments to both sides to complete the transfer.

I went to see the finance department last week (Monash Richmond), they told me I could transfer embryos to another clinic.

I asked the office whether they were telling new patients and they said no. I asked why not? Surely they need to set expectations with new patients that Lynn may actually not be able to be their Dr depending on the hearing.

I've started to think about Plan B. If we can't use Lynn as our Dr, is there another IVF Dr at Lynn's level?
