I don't mind that she charges a higher initial consult as I feel she did a lot more investigative work, tests etc which would have meant more work behind the scenes checking results and reviewing your file. Compared with another dr we saw that charged us $200+ with no testing and telling us to go try again for another 6 months and if nothing then come back.

I agree about Monash overall going up. We have been with them now since 2013 and have seen the fees continue to rise and often quite substantially. It is a lot of money to put up front before receiving the medical rebate back.

This definitely isn't a cheap process and Monash are forever increasing their charges to make extra money for their share holders.

so true faith, when were you with her? I am hearing a lot of stories about monash i have a friend who is with dr nick and the completely stuffed up her donor's protocol and over stimulated. Now Dr Nick has gone awol and she has been trying to get clarification since just before Easter.

this same friend is using a donor and she has donated to another girl who is using lynne and they stuffed her cycle up too. The donor said if you see Lynne's office you will understand why she charges so much is a state of the arts.
I find that discusting overcharging people in need so she can live in luxury

In fairness to Lynn, she would only set her fees. The larger fee schedule is set by Monash.

And truthfully, I didn't think her office was anything flash - at all. I saw a City Fertility office on Real Housewives last night and it was MUCH fancier than Lynn's.

I agree with you lileitak, Lynn's office looks just like most doctors offices in hospitals. There seems to be a lot of unfair accusations going on in this thread ...

Default Lynn Burmeister Monash IVF-feedback wanted please #6

Also agree, it's a standard looking office but clean and just happens to have a view as its on the 7th or 8th floor. The city fertility footage shown on Rhom the other night is their clinic on st Kilda road. that's where you go for your transfer (no admission to hospital like Monash) and where you go to collect your meds as the nurses are based there. When I was a Patient with them my specialist was actually based in east Melbourne.

@lissimmo have you met Lynn yet? If not, I would reserve judgment until then. You don't want to cloud what could be a good meeting with negative preconceptions from others.

I agree, Lynn's room isn't probably any better then most doctors at Monash, however is saying that, I still believe the initial consultation fee is an awful lot of money. I wonder though does Monash receive a part payment of this? Yes IVF isn't cheap, but in fairness to Lynn she doesn't pocket a hell of a lot of the IVF fee's and most of it goes back to the company. However, I believe this is an open forum and people are entitled to put down their experience, and thoughts as long as it's not nasty.

    Default Lynn

I'm only going by what i have been told and my friend's cycle was recent.
I've done 4 cycle's with City Fertility in St kilda road and I wouldn't see it was anything flash either.
I am now with Monash but not Lynne another Dr, I did use Lynn's nurses for my last cycle though and I found them hard to get hold of and one lied to me about my Dr giving the go ahead for an EPU.
I haven't been to Lynn yet but I have been told she won't see me if I dont have a donor anyway so its probably best I cancel for now. My donor has to assist her existing recipient for the time being.

Totally agree. I'm just saying make your own judgment.
