I'm going tomorrow for round one, scared Sh!tless!!

Anyone had it done? Is it as bad as my irrational dentist fear is making me think it will be?

I had root planing done about 4-5 years ago and it really didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.

Thank you, I broke my front tooth as a kid and by some kind of amazing luck it never went black or fell out but left me with an irrational fest on dentists so I'm trying hard to keep my mind in perspective and get this done - he said I'll likely only ever need it once in my life so here it goes 😏

Yeh, I haven't had to go back. I had to have it done in 2 goes, though. Can't remember if they did the top then bottom or one side then the other.

    Good luck.

Was ok to be honest although not so pleasant when he used the hand held hook thing, I'm still a bit tender and my lower wisdom tooth is so sensitive that it's not nice.

One thing, on the side that they numbed I've had a terrible runny nose and its kind of like an inside itchy/tingly - the dentist said it could be a side effect of the anaesthetic (never had a reaction before) or coincidence that I got sick (kids have been) . Did you ever experience that?

they should have be able to numb your mouth, so shouldn't hurt but will feel pressure depending on you your serveritity 2-4 sessions ?? Can do either half mouth or top, bottom etc. Gums will feel sensitive for a few days after but everyone is different, can take panadole if needed.
    Is this what you experienced?
