    Default Would you rather...

Perfect house and compromise on location

    OR

Great location and compromise on the house

The location compromise would be a little further from friends, possibly not as convenient to schools/shops/transport.
House compromise would be dealing with a smaller house, small block, a few 'problems' that need addressing.

In general I would rather compromise on the house and be in a great location, so second option.

But - I'm not sure I'd go for a too small house having two young boys. Will there be enough space for you? Or will you end up just needing to move somewhere bigger as your kids get older?

I would probably go great location. We recently moved to a smaller house in a much better location and our lifestylr has changed massively for the better.

I would give location the priority every time. The house can be changed/improved over time but location can never be altered (other than by selling and moving). Plus houses in better locations will sell more easily than those without transport/shops etc so if you ever need to move on the process will be easier.

Perfect house and compromise on location.

My answer does slightly depend on how far away from everything it is and whether it is still a nice place to live.

I'd probably say compromise on house not location. Houses can be improved. But if you don't like the location. .not so easily solved.

I'd compromise on the house unless it's too small to realistically suit your family.

Same. Houses can be improved but usually at a big expense. I'd rather compromise a little on location (so long as it's still nice and it's safe).
