I'm not sure exactly how far he is, otherwise I would. I'm really just guessing and we don't get phone service til about 10kms out. Otherwise I would. We have one of those Time Timers (with the big red but) and we use it for everything. I just worry that unless I chuck like an hour on it, I really don't want it to go off and hubby not be home yet ha.

I pulled up a video on my phone of a praying mantis eating a fly that we saw earlier and that settled him a bit.

He's just been like this most afternoons for the last few weeks. I think he just needs some time at home. I contemplated keeping him home from school today but he decided to go.

    Makes sense now.

The end of term feral behaviour is so common, especially in a long term. A mental health day is not always a bad thing either.

Yeh he used to struggle towards the end of term in preschool too. And that was only 3 days a week and no where near as draining. So I think he has done well to get through it. Looking forward to the holidays so the poor kid can recuperate though.

DH takes DS1 to the Lego exhibition at the museum.
And on Sunday I go to a wedding exhibition with my sisters.
Then my little sister will be staying for a few days.

I have officially reached the point in the holidays where I don't know what more I can do to entertain the kids. DS2 especially. He has been heavily relying on me to keep him happy this week and I am truly exhausted and aching for some serious alone time.
I thank god Tuesday school is back. I am going nutty.

I took DS1 to a pottery class and he down right refused to take part and had a meltdown in public, first time I have had to go through that with him since he was 4. It is so much different the older they get.

    Doesn't sound fun @White Mage

Count down is on here too. Are you catching up with friends or family over the Easter break at all? Maybe they can help distract the boys so you can relax a little?

DH is heading overseas for 8 days in a week or so. I am hoping it doesn't unsettle DD too much. She also has her birthday next weekend(so no sleep next week in the lead up), and 2 weeks of school swimming from week 2 at school. Could be a long month here I think!

    Great news about your trampoline!

We've travelled a little bit with DD. We had 2.5 weeks interstate over Christmas and she travelled really well. We made sure we had down time, kept routine where possible, and stayed 4nights in each place to minimize change.
We also travelled to Bali approx 6 months before her diagnosis. She adored it and coped really well. Helped that they swam every day which is her 'safe place' and way to relax. We stayed in the resort the whole time just about and she loved the kids club. We went with friends but stayed in separate rooms which worked well.
The one time travel was negative for DD was spending 4 nights in a house with my sister, her husband and kids (and myself, DH and DS). She had lots of fun there but it took 10 days to recover once home. It showed us that she definitely needs her own space and downtime when traveling.

A few years back we had two weddings in one year, the first one I did not think to do much prep for him, we went with nana and pop and stayed at a big 4. (The wedding was there.) it was horrid. Ground swallow me up whole horrid!
So the next wedding was interstate again but we flew. I prepped the airline, and I social storied to the max! But it worked! Really really worked. We all had a fun time and he knew what was happening and what was expected of him.
Highly recommend doing a social story about airports customs, and where you are staying. And if you can have to airlines on side if need be before you take off.
