My kids have in the past had fruit loops for dinner when everything else failed.

    You did better than that!

    Home cooked is always better.

My go to for DS is usually a repeat from lunch - I always have frozen zucchini slice or pea fritters which he has with tomatoes, cucumber and cheese. Not so good for DP and I as we normally end up with pizza. It's funny how you always go to extra effort for your kids that you wouldn't for yourself😏

Breakfast for dinner is great. When my kids were little, I had them convinced that porridge for dinner was an extra special treat.

@Mod-Nomsie - I think your dinner sounded great. It's much better than the homemade chips and something with eggs and salad that we are having for a very late dinner tonight. I'm so impressed that your kids will eat brown rice.

What you cooked sounds great! Lower in fat/salt/preservatives etc than the other takeaway options.

Sometimes if I know I don't have anything at home and I'm in the car running late with dinner, I'll grab some cooked chicken or deli meat, a few veggies and fruits, and throw together a "variety plate" for DD which she loves, I always sell it to her as a special treat and so far, she buys it. ☺️
