Thanks @Corbes. I have a lotto ticket - I've been in the Saturday lotto with my best mate at work for over a year now. Still waiting!

I also enter that competition on the tele - "I wake up with today." You never know, right? I have just as good a chance as anyone.

Hopefully one day we catch a break.

jeez Blossom you deserve a break soon. what a nightmare with the plumbing, and bad luck for it to happen on a friday. I hope the police can sort something out for the animals. good on you for caring about them. yes a holiday would be good. can you have insurance put you up in a hotel until the plumbing is fixed?

Nope, the only insurance we have is for our contents.

    I am stuck here

Hopefully I only have to get through the weekend, then I'm away Monday for business and back home to the works on Tuesday. by the end of Tuesday it's all fixed....

Yes, I think that's it @midnite. I doubt it could be a permanant arrangement though. At the end of the day we signed a contract on a house with a flushing toilet. I don't think there is any way they can't be held responsible to fix it. Even if they decided "That's it, sell the house" they'd still need to get it fixed. Plus, good tenants are very hard to come by here (there is no work in the town, so people are leaving left right and centre) and houses don't sell for years either (same reason). So if they want a return on their investment either way they'll have to get it sorted. I could easily find another house - in less than a week. I'd just rather not if it can be helped. Aside from the pipes, this is a lovely home.

This will sound weird, but I'm just so....wound up....about everything. I feel in a state of flux, waiting for all these issues to get sorted. I am a stressed person by nature, and the past two weeks have just been.....challenging. Now I don't know how to be still.
