I am worried and a fair bit angry as I'm 40 weeks today and DH is going out tonight for drinks with the boys, leaving me alone with dd. I know he will drink too much to be able to drive as he's asked for a lift in. I don't want to sound like a nagging housewife so said ok, I'm disappointed in him though. God forbid if I go into labour tonight. Irresponsible much?

My dh did the same thing... We went to a wedding when I was 40+1 and he was over the limit pretty quick. And hung over/useless the next day.

a friend of ours said that once his wife got to 36 weeks plus he always made sure he was in a fit state to drive just in case she went into labour. would be a pretty bad look to be too smashed to drive your wife into the hospital 😂
maybe your dh just wants one final hurrah before the bub is born?
