If hr fire someone is it normal to call a work college into the room to do it

From what I've witnessed, yes definitely. I've seen a few people get fired in the last two years and there has always been a second person in the room.

Yes we use a HR consulting firm and they recommended that we have two managers and a "support" person in the room.

When I was a contractor I was told my services weren't required any longer by just the manager in his office.

They bought his work friend/plumber in. Not a support person etc. I just thought it was odd. But thanks
