    Default Relationship counselling - IVF

Hi all, my wife and I have had 4 unsuccessful IVF cycles now with a couple of fertility clinics in the Brisbane/ Sunshine Coast area. As anyone that is going through this or has been through it will know, it has a pretty huge impact on your relationship and we are certainly not exempt from this. Has anyone had any experience or can recommend a relationship counsellor that has expertise in the area of assisted fertility treatment and relationships in the north Brisbane or Sunshine Coast area? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi and welcome to bubhub

I'm sorry to hear you've had some struggles.

I'm going to move this thread to the IVF section where it might hopefully get more views/replies.

Hi there sorry to hear this but good for you being proactive. No direct recommendations but your ivf clinic might have a suggestion or even a counsellor on staff (mine has one on staff). All the best.

Sorry to hear you are struggling, but good on you for being proactive. My husband and I started seeing someone to talk things through and it was fantastic. She is based in the Brisbane CBD so maybe not suitable but I'm happy to share her details she is amazing.

We saw the psychologist at our clinic (mandatory before using donor sperm) and he just seemed disinterested in us. Given this experience I would seek out someone independent.

Hi mummymaybe, thanks for replying, we have also had experience with an in house counselor and it wasn't a good one either. If you could forward the contact details through that would be great. Thanks!
