I always get the extra protection cover and I get travel insurance. I would rather pay an extra $200 odd dollars then be worried I will scratch the car somehow. It's not worth the stress for me I figure one of those I insurances will end up covering me. The excess for damage on the car we are hiring on our holiday is 3k...bugger that!
