Default Help for paid parental leave

    Hi,

Hoping someone can help me in relation to entitlements.

I unfortunately have been recently made redundant from my job, leaving me to start fresh again. I at present have picked up a job working 10 hours a week with the hope to obviously increase this. This job has set hours every week, on the same days every week. Am I entitled to paid government parental leave?? It seems to be a grey area!! Any help would be much appreciated

    So the rules are:

You must have worked for at least 10 of the 13 months before the birth

330 hrs in that 10 month period, which is roughly over 1 day per week, with no more than an 8 week gap between 2 consecutive working days.

I haven't done the math but I would think 10 hours per week qualifies. Assuming you haven't been off work for more than 8 weeks in between Jobs.

And remember your previous job hours will count toward that 'average' - when are you due?

Also there are some situation examples if you go onto the human services website under paid parental leave work test.
