How far along are you now dougy? Sorry but my memory is shocking!

Great news! Our donor has been confirmed and we have both been allocated to him now!!! Yay!!!! Our first choice worked out perfectly! Couldn't be happier! Also got the call to say that DP's trigger was a-okay and she doesn't need a top up so no more injections for her which is awesome. She has a massive needle phobia - as in crying, shaking, breaking a sweat and hyperventilating... Well that's how she used to be! I went with her to get her very first blood test a couple of years ago and it was traumatic to say the least! Fast forward to now and wow... She got through IVF like a complete trooper! She's my hero

TNTH great news that you got your first choice in donor. I remember feeling (and still do) great about our donor choice. All the best for DP's egg pickup tomorrow and yours on Monday. Keep us updated! X

    Yes it is magic!

I'm doing well thanks. I feel like I'm getting to the 'second trimester will be better' point. I feel my hormones have changed yet again and definitely feel a bond developing with bub.

I wondered if I'd feel different carrying DP's egg rather than my own but can honestly say I haven't even thought about needing to use mine. I just feel so at peace with what we chose to do and love the peach sized bub so much already.

@TandR will your DP use yours in future? I hope and pray that I can carry DP's embryo and grow it into our baby

Fingers crossed I don't have any issues that I am not aware of!

ETA - I'm curious as to how everyone decided who would carry or if both want to carry how did you decide who would go first? As a same sex couple I've heard the questions of "so who will carry?" so many times so I'm curious on what everyone else's thoughts were on the matter. Are you in a femme/femme relationship that would make it harder for people to see one as the obvious carrier? Curious! 😊

We are femme/femme and how we decided was basically that I have wanted to carry a baby forever and it was just right at the time for me to go first. Then we decided we'd just alternate but obviously that hasn't quite worked out as planned.

I love the idea of egg sharing too, but it didn't really bother us either way and at the time it was better for us to just go through one egg collection so that's how it worked out for us!

ETA: I don't think it makes a difference whose egg you carry - the bond you form during pregnancy is just incredible, regardless of biology <3
