I am a little lost at the moment. Dp and I are getting married next September and I'm due to have a baby in may. I'm a little worried as I don't know when I should be buying a dress as I don't know how much weight I'm going to gain. I also can't afford a proper wedding dress and am wondering if anyone knows any places online or a store that has nice dresses? I'm in Brisbane

I was 7 months pregnant when I got married (a bit different to you) but I didn't wear a traditional dress. I wore a strapless dress (fitted across the breast but loose everywhere else). I got it from swish (in Melbourne) but they are online as well. It was only about $200 from memory.
Eta: I bought my dress a month before my wedding and it wasn't a maternity dress it was actually a bridesmaid dress.

if you have a few months I would wait until after the baby
I have bought a few dresses from www.jenjenhouse.com and they have been fabulous.
they take about a month from your order till it gets to you, so you would have plenty of time.

I bought a white bridesmaid dress (who lets their bridesmaids wear white anyway?!) off the rack at a bridal store for my wedding. It cost $300 and the empire line style was quite forgiving. It was actually strapless but came with a shoulder wrap in the same fabric as the dress so I had that turned into straps which suited me better.
It's so hard to know when to buy with your bub coming! I've got a 13 week old bub and I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight somehow but there's no way of knowing how much weight your body will hang onto for how long. You certainly wouldn't want the pressure of rushing to fit into something while in the newborn phase so I'd probably buy after baby comes or buy something now that could be easily adjusted or is a forgiving style.
I was looking on next the other day at dresses and thought some of their long formal type dresses would suit a wedding and they're reasonably priced (around $200 mark).
Here's a pic of my 'bridesmaid' dress 😀

I got a bridesmaids dress made in white. The good thing is it only took about 2 months to make & fit - with "proper" wedding dresses it can take a long time. So it would be possible to get a dress in June ready for September. I would look at a shop that sells formalwear, not necessarily a bridal shop.

Going to try bump this..
The day is getting closer and I have my dress picked out, just a matter of buying it after bub is born. I'm wondering if I should get it altered a few weeks before the wedding? As I don't know how big I'm going to be or if I will lose weight. I've never had a dress altered before so not sure how long it takes.
