Default What did you get your bub for their first birthday?

For DD we got her a couple of toys and a smart trike and a book.

DS wi be one at the end of the month and we have got him a cosy coupe thing, a talking hoot, bunnkyins dinner set, a book and a couple of shirts. I'll take DD to the shop to choose him a present as well.

Eta - this year I've tried to do want, need, wear, read plus a big present.

@JustJaq I got it from a shop called House, it also came in a nice box to keep it in. You should be able to find them in most kitchen shops although it did take me quite a few different shops to find one that didn't have wedding bells on it.

I don't remember for DS, lots of toys I guess. For DD we got her a few toys and a little gold bracelet with a lady bird on it. For DD2 we will do the same but I'm thinking one with a bluebird on it. I think girls are a bit easier in the keepsake department.

    A wheely bug.

They're a pretty cool little ride-on toy, though my DS didn't use it much!

I've been getting my nieces and nephews a wooden name puzzle for their first birthdays. Was going to do the same for DS, but mum has already ordered it. You can get a book with a story that spells out the name of the child, too. They are also always a hit. DS got one for easter, and it is beautiful. You can get a message put in the front, too.
Other beautiful gifts we've received have been a gorgeous silver musical snow globe, willow tree figurines, a villeroy and bosch plate from the year he was born, an ID bracelet, and a gorgeous copy of Stuart Little from the Folio Society.

I got DS a metal John Deere wagon, one of those old school ones you pull along. It still gets played with 5 years later and has been very useful to take to markets etc!

DD got a wooden dollhouse I got off Gumtree and spent a lot of time refurbishing.

We were in the middle of moving house / getting ready to host overseas family for Xmas for DDs first bday. We actually didn't get her any gifts! We knew others in the family would spoil her and didn't want to pack up and move more stuff!
