I am having a cesarean (elective) delivery at a public Sydney hospital.
I'd love to do skin to skin right away, delayed cord clamping and I'm not curious about having a vaginal swab to wipe over baby's skin. has anyone asked for any of these before. My hospital said if I'm not bleeding they can leave me open for a bit while the cord is pulsating.
What sort of things can you ask for when having a cesarean?

Cesarean Birth plan, what can you ask for?

Ask to have the drape lowered so you can witness baby emerging from your belly. Ask staff not to announce gender but for your partner to look and tell you. Take an iPod with your own playlist of special songs to have playing in the background.

Vaginal swab to wipe over baby's skin? ... I'm keen to have elective cesarean this time around as have had two difficult natural births. Keen to see any suggestions here 😀
