Aspire, agree with mardi, we hired online which was with tempest it was cheap we had a Figo which we loved with no dramas, we used our iPhone, got a SIM card on way in (at airport) through Vodacom cheap and super easy and the girls at airport set the phone up perfectly again as per sunny if you have a google account you can set up favourite locations prior you'll love Cape Town. Good luck with your plans

    Hi all,

Dropping a note in as we are planning a #3 DE cycle in Capetown in December/January.

We are using a known donor and going through Rikki at sunshine and aevitas clinic (recommended by Rikki).

we had success with our donor in 2014 in Thailand and this time we are flying to her so this will be our first DE cycle in Capetown.

So far we have no set timeline. We are just completing the initial steps (counselling, medical tests, forms) hopefully from here it will move quickly as in anxious to find flights and accommodation. Which look very expensive for this time of year.

We we are hoping we can fly via Mauritius as we will take our 18month old and the long flight is terrifying (and who doesn't want a stop over on a tropical island).
    Has anyone flown this way?

can anyone suggest accommodation in Capetown that would offer a seperate bedroom from living? ie not a hotel room. More like a apartment.

There is is so much good information on this forum I'm regretting not taking notes over the years with all the travel tips as its a big read to gather it all.

    Many thanks

    Pixel

Girls, I got a hcg of 4 today and I think AF will arrive with full force tonight. It's already lightly started today with a stonking headache.
I've booked my return flights to CT just now, with a double embryo transfer date of Monday 7th December.
I just rang my FS to get a script for Synarel to collect tomorrow morning but they'd switched their phones off. So this is a desperate plea...does any-one living in Melbourne have any left over Synarel, enough for 2/3 days? xx

Best of luck on your trip to Cape Town Pixel. It is a beautiful place. I'd love to go back soon myself..
I can thoroughly recommend the Protea Hotel North Wharf. We stayed there with our 4 year old son and it was great!!
It's on the edge of the city on the V&A side. 10 mins walk or 4 min drive to the V&A.
It's a hotel but also does 2 bedroom apartments which we got. They are huge, clean, have lots of extras and the benefit of hotel facilities, room service, spa, pool, Resturant etc..
Rooms had washer/dryer, full kitchen including stove, dishwasher, fridge, 2 bedrooms, main bath and ensuite, large lounge, free wifi and car parking. Also serviced twice daily and brekkie included. When we went on day trips they packed us a complimentary brekkie pack each for free too. My son (and us) loved the staff too. We would stay there again next time too. Ohh and the spa is soooo cheap!!
    Hope this helps. X

    Received our freeze Report:

2 Blastocysts 2XB4AA were transferred for our ET.
11 blastocysts were frozen and graded as:
    Day 5: 5XB4AA, 4XB3AA,1XB3AB, 1XB2.

    4dpt POAS = BFN.

We've gone from none to freeze last time to 11 this time. Funny thing though, DH and I always said we wouldn't leave any of our frozen embies behind and we would transfer all of them ... I am now back peddling like there's no tomorrow! We might have to use all of them to get the family we crave. Dr W seemed fairly confident our embies are quality so hopefully it will work for us this time. My melancholy continues ...
