It sounds like you've got a thorough plan going on there @ECM1981! All the bases covered!! Jenny at Baby2Mom might be a good person to contact for a super proven donor too.
I already have a 4 y/o son so the thought of triplets is a no-go, twins would be pushing it but I'd just have to make it work, a singleton would be perfect! With Dr M's protocol behind me I may revert back to a single transfer. Otherwise it'll be a double transfer if both thaw well.

I've just contacted CFC & requested my next transfer for 11 March. I've booked my flights and The Vineyard for 1 night. My SAA flights were only $1.5k from Melb return if any-one's looking at similar.
Hey Tahli so excited to hear of your new plan of attack. $1.5 from Melb? That sounds super cheap! Is that because of the time of year? We're also considering a March trip however we've stalled on a donor. Wazza said 'no' when I asked about one of them due to her smoking, and the other which I agonised over whether to choose due to her being 31 just got taken by someone else before I reserved her and the agency has just told me that she failed her medical and has to be taken off the database now... :-(

Thanks @MamaKes. Yep, $1.5k return from Melb for one person in March with SAA. They've cheekily just started charging to choose your seat for the long Perth to J'Berg leg, $70 return per person.
I remember asking the girls on here about EDs smoking and it seemed pretty unanimous to consider smokers. It seemed that so many of the young donors do. I would have highly preferred to have chosen a non smoker but in the end did chose one who smoked. Was the smoking ED you liked a recently proven donor...ie her egg quality wasn't compromised by her smoking?
The age question seems to come up here a lot too. I think the general jist was to chose someone under 25 or a little bit over if they were super special. I'm not sure many of the girls would choose someone over 30 but I could be wrong.
I hope I haven't confused you. I know it's abit trickier for you because you're looking for a very particular heritage. Good luck with your search!

@midnite01 Hopefully the other girls will pitch in with their opinions on carriers. I've flown SAA twice and Qantas once. And as I've mentioned, chosen to fly with SAA for my 4th trip. All 6 of my connecting Qantas flights were late which caused me an immense amount of stress and running through the airport only hours after my embryos were transferred which caused cramping...never again.
Although SAA's seats are smaller and they're a budget carrier I'd still prefer to go with them. Plus their flight times suit me better and I save money which I can then spend on a night at The Vineyard (around $200 to $240 for a courtyard room, breaky included) and a nice meal (most meals are quite cheap by Australian standards) and a luxurious massage (about $75 for 1.5 hours).

I went with SAA last time and it was perfectly fine. I'm going with them again this time. The flight times suit me better.

As for choosing donors, dr W said try for age 27 or under. He talked me out of a donor I'd liked who was over 30. I agree that it is surprising how many people smoke, but at least they are honest about it I guess!

I agree @MrsErinR...how many donors don't declare they smoke or take recreational drugs. Not one ED or SDs profile I looked at declared the use of recreational drugs and I highly doubt that could be true. As you said, at least the donors who state they smoke are being honest.

I Actually saw 2 sperm donor profiles via CFC that disclosed recreational drug use. I didn't go with either but at least they disclosed!
