When you say new house, do you mean newly built? Building stirs everything up and the spiders can be bad. I would call someone and get it done too. I hate spiders!

I'm also in WA and agree I'm glad we don't have fun ell webs here, but snakes worry me a lot. We live on property so I know they are out there, I just hope they stay out of the garden and house area!
Haha that pic is priceless 😃

I love spiders :P That one looks cool
I'd be worried about the funnel webs though. Sucks to have something stopping you from enjoying your garden

I would Tell my dh something like this. Ok I am a big fat wuss. If that what you need to hear but Your suppose to be my protector my knight in shinny armor. There was a deadly thing in our house and you haven't stepped up and done what needs to be done. You have to end of the weekend to do or I am calling in a professional because my children safety comes before my pride any day of the week.

We get a few spiders but lots of snakes.

Oh something similar happened me nice.
About 2 yrs ago we were living in Ballina and after heavy rain during the night I got up, pulled the curtains, and this huntsman the size of my fecking fist, scurried up the net curtain to get away from me.
    I sh!t myself!
Then I thought about DS1 getting up and how he'd have a complete meltdown if he saw the size of this thing, so I ran to get my spider catcher and tried stalling him in his room without telling him why he couldn't come out.
    Too late.
I heard this blood curdling scream.
    He saw it.
    You couldn't fecking miss it.
His screams woke the baby who I had to leave crying because I was not taking my eye off this beast.
I tried calming DS1 telling him this magic spider catcher would sort him out, all the while trying to hide my own fear.
Each time I lunged at it it would almost jump up the curtains, I was sure it was going to jump on to my face Alien-style.
Took me a good 20 minutes to get the sh!thead trapped in the catcher and out the front door. I was a sweaty mess. All this before I even had a cup of coffee.
I thought I'd die of a heart attack and my son was white-faced, poor child.

Anyway, get that bloody hubby of yours to get the house sorted. He's not there to be the hero and soon enough you'll be run off your feet with a new baby, you won't be able to keep on top of it.
Spiders freak me out because they can be anywhere and with little kiddies they can't always tell you something has bit them.

They can carry bactera which, it's thought, some people have a severe reaction to.

If i had spiders all over the place I would be ignoring my hubby and getting the house sprayed..... or just burn the house down!
